old-About Lady Agile

Hi there! Welcome to my site! I am Lady Agile. I have always loved ladybugs, from when I first encountered them growing up as a child in Banbury, England. “Ladybird Ladybird” (also known as “Ladybug Ladybug”) is a traditional nursery rhyme, dating back to the 18th century England.

Lady-bird, Lady-bird, fly away home
The field mouse is gone to her nest
The daisies have shut up their sleepy red eyes
And the birds and the bees are at rest
Lady-bird, Lady-bird, fly away home
The glow worm is lighting her lamp
The dew’s falling fast, and your fine speckled wings
Will flag with the close clinging damp
Lady-bird, Lady-bird, fly away home
The fairy bells tinkle afar
Make haste or they’ll catch you and harness you fast
With a cobweb to Oberon’s star.

You are supposed to recite the rhyme when a ladybug lands on you, and make a wish. If the bug flies away, your wish will come true. And also, there is a belief that to kill a ladybug brings you bad luck, so you are supposed to sing this song to make the bug return home.

Ladybugs are very useful to farmers; they can eat up to 50 aphids a day, and over 5,000 in their lifetime. They certainly display an Agile mindset! I love ladybugs, and I love Agile… thus, my company name was born – Lady Agile.
